The Great Lakes Burn Camp once again welcomed the campers to GLBC with a parade. Each camper controls a siren or air horn for the ear splitting entry to camp. Here is an article by Texas Township Fire that includes a video of the 2007 Parade.
Tom McCarthy and Tom Wouri, two of the partners at Halpert, Weston, Wouri and Sawusch recently attended the 13th Annual Great Lakes Burn Camp near Portage, Michigan. Both participated in the waterski program that boasts success for nearly every camper successfully water skiing, kneeboarding, wakeboarding and even barefoot water skiing! Participation is a pleasure for both attorneys who each took their children to participate as well.
For those too young, afraid, or injured to ski on their own, the ice breaker is often a trip around the lake on the skis of an instructor such as is shown in the picture here.
Tom McCarthy is in his second year (2006 and 2007) as a waterski instructor at camp. He is often seen wandering the camp in the evening as a minstrel, entertaining the campers with his guitar and in some cases writing specific songs to fit particular groups or individual campers. Tom Wouri was a rookie n 2007.
